Mobility in Japan saw positive growth in light vehicle sales in 2023 for the first time since 2018, driven by the end of COVID-19 restrictions. However, negative growth is anticipated from 2023 to 2028. The rise of electric and alternative fuel vehicles has been seen, driven by the success of Nissan's Sakura. In shared mobility, ride hailing and scooter sharing are on the rise in Japan. Car rentals are still increasing despite the faster increase of car sharing.
