Nuts are expected to continue to grow over the forecast period in both value and volume terms. Overall, sales in nuts will continue to be supported by such products’ suitability as a healthy snack option, although this does somewhat depend on the volumes of salt added to the particular nuts.
Heading towards 2030 and the bulk buying law which states that 20% of the space in hypermarkets needs to be available for bulk selling, it is likely that consumers will become increasingly familiar with buying in bulk and take advantage of the lower prices available compared to packaged alternatives. The changes to bulk retailing laws will also help to support sales of nuts by encouraging a wider variety of nuts to become available to purchase in bulk in many supermarkets and large retailers.
