Footwear is anticipated to return to pre-COVID-19 growth rates during the forecast period, rebounding from the pandemic recovery and the impact of high inflation rates in 2022 and 2023. Children’s, men’s, and women’s footwear are all projected to experience value growth with modest volume increases.
Sustainability remains a prominent trend in 2023 and is expected to persist throughout the forecast period, particularly in sports and outdoor footwear. Consumers engaged in outdoor activities tend to prioritise sustainability and eco-friendly products.
Athletic and outdoor styles are expected to trend upward over the forecast period, driven by the ongoing casualisation trend and the expansion of product ranges by activewear brands, such as Canada Goose, into footwear. Consumers are projected to seek versatile and comfortable athletic-themed footwear.
