Footwear in Egypt is projected to achieve modest growth over the forecast period as consumers adapt to elevated pricing and explore cost-effective alternatives. The widening price gap between imported and locally produced footwear is expected to drive an increase in domestic manufacturing, supported by government initiatives aimed at improving quality and boosting exports.
After enduring two years of difficulties with imports and foreign currency shortages, premium footwear is once again becoming accessible, particularly to higher-income consumers. Luxury retail outlets such as Ego and Beymen are experiencing a resurgence in demand, with shelves now restocked to cater to the growing interest in global brands.
adidas Group remains the leader in sportswear in Egypt, leveraging its robust distribution network across multiple channels. In 2024, the brand managed price increases strategically to cushion consumers from currency devaluation while simultaneously expanding its online presence through platforms such as Amazon and Jumia.
