Although an improved economic context is expected over the forecast period, there is no anticipated expansion in the range of product types or categories sold through vending machines. Hot drinks and snacks are likely to remain the only products available in Argentina, with limited opportunities for innovation or the development of other categories.
Over the forecast period, vandalism and the expansion of chained kiosks will remain the biggest reasons for limited progress in vending. Vending machines in Argentina are concentrated in semi-captive environments such as shopping centres, forecourt retailers and airports.
Although there have been several innovations in vending in neighbouring countries during the review period, no new developments are expected in Argentina in the short term despite an anticipated improved economic context. For example, while Blue Star Group has installed accessory vending machines for its Todomoda and Isadora brands in Santiago, these machines are not available in Argentina.
