Vending in the Netherlands is expected to see a slightly underwhelming performance in value terms (at constant 2024 prices) over the forecast period. However, while the category faces ongoing challenges, improvements in the broader economic climate and rising consumer confidence will have a positive impact, helping to stabilise transaction levels.
Many popular vending products, such as coffee and chocolate confectionery, are expected to see continued price increases over the forecast period. Fluctuations in the supply of cocoa and coffee beans, due to issues like droughts and poor harvests, will contribute to ongoing shortages, keeping prices elevated.
Further consolidation is expected within the vending sector as technology continues to play an increasingly vital role. Vending machines are becoming more advanced, not only in terms of functionality but also in how they streamline logistical operations.
