Vending looks set to record strong growth in current value sales throughout the forecast period. While the prospects for further expansion will be tempered by encroaching maturity, the channel will remain well placed to capitalise on the trend towards busier lifestyles in Hungary.
The competitive landscape in vending is not expected to change significantly over the forecast period. Soft drinks giant Coca-Cola should remain the clear leader in value sales terms thanks to its strong brand portfolio and an extensive network of machines strategically positioned in high-traffic locations across Hungary.
While hot drinks vending is expected to remain the single largest vending channel in current value sales terms over the forecast period, it looks set to post comparatively sluggish growth. This is partly explained by its greater level of maturity, but also reflects the fact that it faces a significant competitive threat from affordably priced freshly brewed on-the-go coffee available from foodservice businesses, convenience stores and other types of retailers.
