RTDs are expected to remain the fastest-growing category within alcoholic drinks in the Czech Republic over the forecast period. This strong performance will be underpinned by an ongoing generational shift in consumer preferences, particularly among younger adults who increasingly favour moderation and health-conscious drinking.
One of the most effective sales strategies expected to gain traction over the forecast period is the use of branded secondary displays in retail outlets. Increasingly, RTD producers are introducing freestanding promotional units – often made of cardboard – to highlight their products outside of standard shelf placements.
Innovation will be a key growth driver in the RTD category over the forecast period, with producers focusing on both flavour development and packaging design to capture consumer attention. While popular cocktails currently dominate the category, growing competition is expected to spur the introduction of novel flavour combinations and inventive new offerings.

RTDs
RTD stands for ‘ready-to-drink’. Other terms which may be used for these products are FABs, alcopops and premixes. The RTDs sector is the aggregation of malt-, wine-, spirit- and other types of premixed drinks. These drinks usually have an alcohol content of around 5% but this can reach as high as 10% ABV. Premixes containing a high percentage of alcohol of around 15%+ combined with juice or any other soft drink are included here. RTDs are usually marketed as products to be drunk neat, with ice, or as a cocktail ingredient. Fruit-flavoured, vodka-based spirits with an alcohol content of between 16-21% are classified here. Examples: Alizé, Ursus Roter, Berentzen Fruchtige, Kleiner Feigling.
