Value sales growth is expected to remain on a positive trend in the forecast period, even in constant terms, and is likely to outpace overall retail sales significantly.
In 2023, after repeated declines in sales, the Tupperware parent company itself reported that there is "substantial doubt about the company's ability to continue as a going concern". Moreover, due to the poor outlook, the Tupperware share then became a meme share.
At the end of the year, Johannes Engl, the founder of the Austrian direct selling specialist Enjo, stepped down and handed over his company shares to the two new CEOs Walter and Renate Grießer, who had already been involved with the brand for many years as independent franchise partners. The company remains an Austrian family business and the continuation of the company, its proven business model and all the jobs in Vorarlberg, where its roots lie, are secured.

Direct Selling
Direct selling is the marketing of consumer goods directly to consumers, generally in their homes or the homes of others, at their workplace, and other places away from permanent retail locations. Direct selling occurs in two primary ways: On a one-to-one basis (usually by prior arrangement a demonstration is given by a direct seller to a customer) or on a party-plan basis (selling through explanation and demonstration of products to a group of prospective customers by a direct seller usually in the home of a host(ess) who invites other persons for this purpose). Avon stands as a prime example of a direct seller using one-to-one selling, whereas Tupperware is famous for its party-plan method. Direct selling of services - such as insurance, telecoms, other utilities, and financial services - are excluded.
