Direct selling is no longer as prominent in Greece as it once was, and the channel continues to struggle to remain relevant in the context of developing technologies and changing consumer behaviour. Consumers looking for the convenience of shopping from home are increasingly likely to turn to retail e-commerce, and direct selling is struggling to attract younger consumers.
Over the forecast period, direct selling companies in Greece will increasingly invest in new technologies to promote and facilitate their services. Digital marketing and personalised offers with the aid of artificial intelligence (AI) are likely to play a major role in this domain, helping direct selling companies to reach out to more customers and increase sales.
It is possible that the rising cost of living and increased prices will lead to local producers starting to sell their products to consumers directly without the use of intermediaries such as supermarkets. In this way they will be able to reduce their costs and be in direct contact with the customer.

Direct Selling
Direct selling is the marketing of consumer goods directly to consumers, generally in their homes or the homes of others, at their workplace, and other places away from permanent retail locations. Direct selling occurs in two primary ways: On a one-to-one basis (usually by prior arrangement a demonstration is given by a direct seller to a customer) or on a party-plan basis (selling through explanation and demonstration of products to a group of prospective customers by a direct seller usually in the home of a host(ess) who invites other persons for this purpose). Avon stands as a prime example of a direct seller using one-to-one selling, whereas Tupperware is famous for its party-plan method. Direct selling of services - such as insurance, telecoms, other utilities, and financial services - are excluded.
