RTD coffee is set to record further low year-on-year volume and current value sales growth over the forecast period, with more consumers opting for quick and convenient coffee drinks. However, the rate of growth will be slower than in 2024 as the category approaches greater maturity.
Due to the strong presence of RTD coffee in supermarkets, particularly brands like Emmi and Crémo, this distribution channel is expected to continue to represent the largest percentage of sales in the years ahead. However, with the growing selection of private label products and occasional brand offers, discounters is set to gain momentum.
Looking ahead, RTD coffee is expected to face growing challenges from other soft drinks and alternatives that are considered to be healthier. These include RTD tea with energy-boosting formulations containing mate, a natural source of caffeine; flavoured and functional water; sports drinks; and organic energy drinks.
