RTD coffee is expected to see off-trade volume sales slow in 2024 and then decline consistently from 2025. On-trade volume sales meanwhile are projected to contract throughout the forecast period.
Poor volume sales prospects will continue to fuel premiumisation in RTD coffee over the forecast period. More manufacturers are likely to try to differentiate their ranges and win over consumers by developing higher-end products with sophisticated flavours and investing in promotional activities that emphasise brand origin stories, the use of superior quality ingredients, artisanal-style brewing techniques etc.
RTD coffee in Taiwan is still mainly represented by standard black coffee and latte options. However, over the forecast period it is expected more players will attempt to gain a competitive advantage and broaden their target audiences by developing new products based on other types of beverages commonly ordered in specialist coffee shops and convenience stores, such as cappuccino, macchiato, frappuccino, caffe mocha etc.
