Fresh coffee, which accounts for a higher proportion of retail volume and value sales than instant coffee, is expected to see stronger growth over the forecast period. Within this, fresh ground coffee pods is projected to see the most dynamic performance, as consumers in more affluent households continue to use their often newly acquired coffee machines to replicate the barista experience at home.
Despite ongoing economic uncertainty, at least in the short term, consumers will increasingly seek out exotic and single origin blends of coffee, in line with the premiumisation trend. In light of this, coffee machines will become a more common feature in more affluent Latvian households.
