Carbonates will register further marginal volume decline over the forecast period. Many of the same factors that are at play in 2024 will also be at play over the forecast period.
Over the forecast period, consumer awareness of the harmful effects of sugar and artificial ingredients will continue to increase, leading to an ongoing shift towards more natural beverages. This will include drinks such as functional bottled water and sports drinks.
Reduced sugar cola carbonates will continue to register volume growth over the forecast period, though other flavours such as orange and lemon/lime combinations will not perform as well and will see a volume decline. This is largely because Cola carbonates were the first to introduce reduced sugar variants in Latvia and consumers are more familiar with them.
