Increases in prices of olive oil and other raw materials had a negative impact on pickled products, which continued to witness drops in retail volume sales towards the end of the review period. However, pickled products is set to return to positive, if slight, retail volume growth through the forecast period as inflation slows and stabilises.
Retail volume and value (constant 2024 prices) sales of herbs and spices are expected to grow, albeit slowly, through the forecast period. Italian consumers are very fond of herbs and spices, because they allow them to experiment and provide flavour when preparing different recipes.
