Energy drinks will continue to be a popular choice in Portugal across the forecast period, challenging and competing with other soft drinks, such as carbonates. As consumers increasingly prioritise convenience in their busy lives, the popularity of energy drinks will grow even further.
Across the forecast period, brands will be investing in new flavours and product innovations to keep up with evolving consumer tastes and preferences. As consumers become more health-conscious and demand beverages with fewer artificial ingredients and less sugar, many brands, including Red Bull, will respond by expanding their range of sugar-free and low-calorie options.
Increasing competition, the launch of new players and promotional campaigns, namely cut-price activities, are expected to reduce unit prices of energy drinks throughout the forecast period. Private labels will launch sugar free, functional and fruit-based options, making their portfolio more attractive.
