All income groups are able to afford hot drinks products due to the wide range of options that are available, which includes low-priced products.
Domestic brands have been performing better in terms of demand, but international brands still dominate sales of hot drinks in Angola. Mid- and high-income groups are the key consumers of imported products while low-income consumers typically prefer more affordable domestic brands.
Although all of the country’s main population centres are well connected with each other and with the main seaports by road and rail, the roads in many parts of Angola are in very poor condition. This can make it difficult for companies to ensure consistent distribution of their products in less densely populated and rural areas.
The Angolan Government's strategy to support the development of domestic coffee production in the country is focusing on a strong presence of large, medium, and small farmers, together with integrated cooperation in order to bring more foreign currency into Angola.
