Canarias continued to lead hot drinks sales in Uruguay, dominating other hot drinks with half of retail value share. The player benefited from offering the most popular yerba maté drink in the country, Yerba Canarias.
Over the review period, Ta-Ta became the biggest supermarket chain with the acquisition of Multi Ahorro Hogar in 2021. In February 2020, it had bought Mayorista, a wholesaler chain, while acquiring small service stores and converting them into minor supermarkets titled Ta-Ta Express.
