Beer looks set to see total volume sales increase steadily throughout the forecast period. While growth potential will be tempered somewhat by maturity, traditional consumption habits and favourable economic and demographic trends should ensure the category continues to expand at a healthy pace overall.
Non alcoholic beer is expected to remain one of the better performing beer categories in terms of total volume sales growth over the forecast period. It will continue to benefit as rising health awareness prompts more Azerbaijanis to consciously reduce their alcohol intake or quit drinking altogether, a trend that has gained momentum in the wake of the pandemic.
While flavoured/mixed lager and non alcoholic beer will remain relatively minor categories, robust growth prospects mean they are anticipated to be focal points for innovation over the forecast period. Both are likely to witness the launch of varieties with more exotic or distinctive flavour profiles by new entrants and established producers.

Beer
An alcoholic drink usually brewed from malt, sugar, hops and water and fermented with yeast. Some beers are made by fermenting a cereal, especially barley, and therefore not flavoured by hops. Alcohol content for beer is varied – anything up to and over 14% ABV (alcohol by volume), although 3.5% to 5% is most common. Beer is the aggregation of lager, dark beer, stout and non/low alcohol beer.
