Looking ahead, beer in the Czech Republic is expected to see only limited growth in volume terms, as evolving consumer values continue to reshape the landscape. The core reason for this modest trajectory is a generational shift in drinking habits, with younger consumers entering the legal drinking age while bringing with them a heightened awareness of wellness, moderation and alcohol-free alternatives.
The continued rise of craft beer culture is poised to further diversify the Czech beer landscape during the forecast period. The number of microbreweries in the country continues to climb, reflecting strong demand for distinctive, small-batch beers that offer unique flavour profiles and a more artisanal appeal.
Innovation is expected to be a key growth lever for beer producers over the forecast period, with companies increasingly focused on diversifying their portfolios through novel flavours and functional attributes. The non-alcoholic segment, in particular, is becoming a hub for experimentation.

Beer
An alcoholic drink usually brewed from malt, sugar, hops and water and fermented with yeast. Some beers are made by fermenting a cereal, especially barley, and therefore not flavoured by hops. Alcohol content for beer is varied – anything up to and over 14% ABV (alcohol by volume), although 3.5% to 5% is most common. Beer is the aggregation of lager, dark beer, stout and non/low alcohol beer.
