In 2022, SABC Cameroun unveiled a substantial XAF200 billion investment plan spanning five years, poised to reshape the beer industry's production landscape. This initiative responds to the challenges faced by producers struggling to meet escalating demand and expand national coverage.
While the demand for beer remains strong in Cameroon, consumers in the country are notably price-sensitive. Many opt for economic beer options, a key reason why the brand Manyan emerged as a fan favourite due to its affordability.
The surge in shopping within modern trade outlets, fuelled by the adoption of a Westernised lifestyle trend, will contribute to increased beer sales across modern trade outlets. A noteworthy trend is the establishment of dedicated bar sections in supermarkets and malls, providing consumers with spaces to relax and share drinks, including soft drinks, beer, or wine.

Beer
An alcoholic drink usually brewed from malt, sugar, hops and water and fermented with yeast. Some beers are made by fermenting a cereal, especially barley, and therefore not flavoured by hops. Alcohol content for beer is varied – anything up to and over 14% ABV (alcohol by volume), although 3.5% to 5% is most common. Beer is the aggregation of lager, dark beer, stout and non/low alcohol beer.
