Beer in Serbia is expected to post robust volume growth over the forecast period with the on-trade outperforming retail. Rising prices are anticipated to stimulate some further price sensitivity among Serbian consumers in the initial years.
Beer producers are expected to continue investing in the promotion of beer in Serbia. Marketing activities, like beer festivals, promotional games and prize draws, and social responsibility events are expected to take place in Serbia during the forecast period as players look to ensure that younger drinkers (of a legal drinking age) continue to drink beer and do not switch to other types of alcoholic drinks.
Healthier lifestyles and the shift towards more responsible consumption of alcohol will stimulate growth of non-alcoholic beer in Serbia over 2024 and the remainder of the forecast period. The variety and availability of non-alcoholic beer in local retailers is expected to grow.

Beer
An alcoholic drink usually brewed from malt, sugar, hops and water and fermented with yeast. Some beers are made by fermenting a cereal, especially barley, and therefore not flavoured by hops. Alcohol content for beer is varied – anything up to and over 14% ABV (alcohol by volume), although 3.5% to 5% is most common. Beer is the aggregation of lager, dark beer, stout and non/low alcohol beer.
