Beer is poised to exhibit positive volume growth over the forecast period. Key drivers will include improved economic conditions leading to higher disposable incomes, a surge in new product developments, and effective promotional strategies.
Dark beer, which displayed the strongest volume growth, is expected to maintain its positive trajectory over the forecast period. The increasing demand for premium and differentiated beer varieties will contribute significantly to this trend, with the two main players of Türk Tuborg and Efes Pilsen expected to launch new products to meet such consumer demands.
The share of supermarkets in beer is anticipated to rise further over the forecast period. The availability of larger shelf space for a diverse range of beer, and the convenience of “one-stop-shopping” are expected to be influential factors driving this growth.

Beer
An alcoholic drink usually brewed from malt, sugar, hops and water and fermented with yeast. Some beers are made by fermenting a cereal, especially barley, and therefore not flavoured by hops. Alcohol content for beer is varied – anything up to and over 14% ABV (alcohol by volume), although 3.5% to 5% is most common. Beer is the aggregation of lager, dark beer, stout and non/low alcohol beer.
