Wine looks set to perform positively over the forecast period in Azerbaijan, with positive growth expected in both off- and on-trade volume sales. The development of the local wine drinking culture will continue to play a central role in boosting demand, especially at the retail level, with the increasing tendency towards more refined and experimental tastes among young adults set to remain highly influential in this regard.
The growth of wine tourism is poised to become key driver for the development of wine. For example, the new Abrau-Durso production facility included the opening of the Az Abrau Muzeyi wine museum within its premises.
Further government support is anticipated to help develop viticulture and winemaking in Azerbaijan, creating a positive influence on domestic sales and exports. Thanks to measures undertaken by the government in recent years, wine has already begun to actively develop.
