Thailand has been experiencing a growing interest in wine consumption, particularly amongst urban, middle-class consumers. This trend continued in 2023, driven by factors such as exposure to international cuisine and wine culture.
Though the wine market in Thailand is dominated by local brands such as Mont Clair and Monsoon Valley, imported brands are likely to have greater opportunities to grow in the forecast period. Thai people, according to their traditional preferences and perceptions, prefer to consume wines from countries of origin that are perceived to provide high quality and authenticity, despite their premium price points.
Wine tourism has been gaining traction globally, and Thailand is no exception. In regions like Khao Yai and Chiang Rai, wine tourism has been growing, with vineyard tours and wine tastings becoming popular attractions.
