Wine will register further healthy volume growth over the forecast period, with the same dynamics supporting volume growth over the forecast period. Also, as in 2024, still white wine will gain the most volume share, largely due to its immaturity compared with still red wine.
For several years, the Dominican Government, through the Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA), has been promoting the production of wines, with production mainly located in Neyba, Bahoruco province. Authorities have also signed cooperation agreements with both Italy and Argentina governments to strengthen training on wine production, as well as to promote technical cooperation between the Dominican Republic and these countries.
Food/ drink/tobacco specialists will gain further volume share over the forecast period, with further outlets opening, including by wine importers that are also opening retail outlets. These outlets often hold wine tasting events, which enables consumers to become more knowledgeable about wine and this will also support growth.
