Wine is expected to see a stronger performance over the forecast period, as the Vietnamese economy continues to recover. Alongside improvements in disposable incomes, consumers will be increasingly willing to purchase non-essential products, such as wine, in order to enhance their lifestyles.
In terms of type of wine, sake will record the highest rate of volume growth, in line with the rising influence of Japanese culture in Vietnam. In 2023, Vietnam and Japan established a comprehensive strategic partnership, pledging to strengthen connections between the two countries in order to promote peace, stability, prosperity and security within the region.
Moving forward, local players such as LamDong Foodstuffs JSC (Ladofoods) and Thang Long Wine JSC are expected to focus on the off-trade channel to grow their wine sales. For example, both companies are likely to set up more showrooms where consumers can come and try their products.
