Juice in Peru, particularly in the second half of 2023 and throughout 2024, has seen a surge in new product launches as companies innovate to stay competitive in an environment where consumers are leaning towards healthier, more trend-focused categories within soft drinks. Noteworthy product introductions include Tampico Blueberry by Gloria SA, which explores a flavour rarely offered on a mass scale within the Juice Fruits segment.
The introduction of new legislation in Peru could profoundly shape the juice market in the coming years. In July 2024, Congressman José Luna proposed a bill aimed at tightening regulations around juice product labelling, particularly concerning the images and claims used on packaging.
Juice in Peru is witnessing a robust trend towards health-focused beverages, especially among younger, high-income consumers who are willing to invest in premium products that support their wellness aspirations. This shift has led to an increased demand for multi-nutritional options, such as smoothies, detox juices, and wellness shots, particularly in on-trade channels like restaurants and cafés.

Juice
This category covers all still packaged juice obtained from fruits or vegetables by mechanical processes, reconstituted or fresh, often including pulp or fruit/vegetable puree. All unpackaged juices are excluded. Only still drinks are included here. Carbonated varieties are included non-cola carbonates. Juice-flavoured milk drinks and fruit shakes which are primarily milk are excluded–these are instead tracked in Packaged Foods Dairy. However, if the juice component is greater, the product is to be excluded from Packaged Foods Dairy coverage and tracked under the relevant category (based on % juice content) within Soft Drinks juice. This sector is the aggregation of 100% juice, nectars (25-99% juice content), juice drinks (up to 24% juice content), and coconut & other plant waters.
